Dear Sir/Madam,
It is our great pleasure to inform you that the International Air Show Maribor ´08 (IAS Maribor´08), dedicated to the first Slovenian pilot Edvard Rusjan´s first flight 99 years ago, is going to take place June 13th, 14th and 15th this year at the Maribor International Airport.
IAS Maribor´08 is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Maribor Aeronautical Centre and the 30th anniversary of Maribor Airport. As such, it is the largest annual aeronautical event of its kind in Slovenia with more than 100 participating aircrafts, with international military, civilian and Slovenian Armed Forces participants. It has special importance due to the Slovenian presidency of the European Union in 2008.
Distinguish Air Force´s representatives from Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Ukraine, Russia, Germany, France, United Kingdom and Portugal has received state invitation to take part at the show with their best aircraft and helicopters. Acrobatic teams Patrouille de France, Wings of Storm, Stars and Russian Knights have been invited to demonstrate their excellent flying skills.
»Peter Podlunsek Challenge«, acrobatic competition between six famous acrobatic pilots known all around the Europe on Extra 300 and similar type of acrobatic aircraft will represent a unique part of IAS´08. Fighter aircraft from WWII, flying replica of Edvard Rusjan´s aircraft from 1909, commercial aviation, parachutes and balloons are going to make IAS´08 the biggest and the most enjoyable air show ever seen in Slovenia.
The Maribor Aeronautical Centre is the coordinating body of IAS Maribor´08 between the Slovenian Armed Forces, local community and Maribor Airport. We expect more than 150 000 visitors from Slovenia and abroad during the show.
IAS Maribor´08 is a great opportunity for participants to get acquainted with each other, to exchange their knowledge and experience, to deepen our cooperation and to show visitors to the air show the usefulness of equipment and skills. During the show, visitors will have the opportunity to see the practical implications of the regional cooperation between our countries and our armed forces, and to enjoy demonstrations.

Your participation at the Airshow, the largest festival of slovenian aviators and aviation friends, wil contribute to popularization of ballooning sport and aviation in general, and make the festival better.
